Agartala, 24th January 2025:   Former Minister and CITU President Manik Dey claimed today that the condition of Tripura is pathetic and not safe for women and also alleged that the law and order in the state has totally collapsed.

While leading a rally in Agartala, the CITU leader stated that atrocities are prevailing in the country, especially affecting poor people and daily wage earners.

“The central government has declared war against them, and even the BJP-ruled states are doing the same. IT sector workers, especially women, have demanded that responsibility be taken for the safety of women working in offices at night. However, the IT sectors have denied this responsibility. We are then forced to say that this cannot be accepted,” he said.

He added that the party will soon launch protests against this.

He also claimed that the Tripura government is following the Central government’s lead and has placed a bill in the Assembly without consulting workers, which has also been passed.

“The bill states that if any company owners want women to work at night, they must comply. Then where is women’s safety? How will they return home? Who will look after their children? They just passed an order. Women are not safe, children are being raped. There is no law and order. Over 800 women are missing in Tripura. This is the condition of women in Tripura. If such a law is implemented here, then where is women’s safety?” he added.
