Agartala, 20th September 2025: Tripura Leader of Opposition and CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury on Saturday criticized the ruling BJP, labeling them “cowards,” following the alleged vandalism of a CPIM local office in Agartala’s Pratapgarh area.
Chaudhury, who visited the damaged office, claimed that the attack was executed by BJP-supported individuals using a bulldozer. “They struck the Pratapgarh local committee office around 2 pm in what seems to be a planned assault. The barbarity of RSS and BJP in Tripura has reached alarming levels. After seven years in power, this government has failed the people, eroding democratic rights and law and order. Citizens are now speaking out against their mismanagement,” he stated.
Chaudhury accused the BJP of cowardice for avoiding direct confrontation. “They lack the courage to act openly and instead carry out attacks under cover of night. This is what they call development and good governance? In reality, they are undermining democracy every day. Our struggle will continue until the BJP is removed from power. Such attacks will not deter us. We will present all necessary evidence to the police and ensure accountability,” he added.
