Agartala: October 27, 2022: In a joint anti-cannabis operation, Bishalgarh police station staff and troops of the 71st battalion of CRPF achieved a huge success by destroying 1 lakh cannabis plants in an area spread over 50 acres of land on Thursday.
Sepahijala district police on Thursday raided a rubber garden adjacent to Nehal Chandra Nagar Village Panchayat under Bishalgarh police station and destroyed a large number of cannabis plants. Additional Superintendent of Police of Sepahijala district Manabendra Chowdhury, Assistant Commandant Berilao Lasu of CRPF’s 71 Battalion, OC Badal Chandra Saha of Bishalgarh Police Station, Inspector Suman Ulla Kazi, Tapas Das, Sub Inspector Sanjay Majumdar and a huge contigent of police, CRPF jawans were present in this operation.
Addressing the media, ASP Chowdhury said that the largest cannabis plantation in the district was destroyed by raids based on secret information. About 1 lakh cannabis plants were destroyed in nine plots spread over 50 acres of land. In the coming days, such operations will continue under the initiative of the police.
Meanwhile, according to sources, Madhupur police station will conduct raids on cannabis gardens in different areas of Madhupur police station in the next few days. It is learned that there are lakhs of cannabis plants in Konaban, Harihardula, Radhanagar, Devipur, Devipur animal farms under Madhupur police station. A police officer said that those spells will be attacked in the next few days.
