Agartala, 25th October 2024 : Tripura Police have achieved another significant success in their ongoing anti-narcotics campaign. On Friday morning, based on secret information, the police seized 52.5 kg of dry cannabis from a car in the Rastar Matha area of Sepahijala district. The driver of the car was arrested for his involvement in the smuggling operation.
According to a police officer from Bishalgarh police station, the seizure was made from the vehicle bearing registration number TR08A-0716, which was on its way from Agartala to Udaipur. “The cannabis was being transported in four plastic bags,” the officer revealed.
He further stated, “Based on the information from secret sources, our team managed to recover 52.5 kg of ganja from the vehicle this morning.” The driver has been taken into custody, and the police have registered a case against him under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.
