Agartala, November 2, 2023: The first gathering of the Tripura State Haj Committee marked a significant milestone as it convened on Thursday at 11 am in the conference hall of the Tripura State Haj Bhavan. The meeting was attended by all the members of the newly elected committee and was presided over by State Haj Committee Chairman, Shah Alam Majumdar.
The session commenced with introductions by each committee member, creating a platform for familiarization. Subsequently, various topics related to the Hajj pilgrimage were deliberated upon, with the proposals and viewpoints put forth by committee members finding unanimous acceptance.
Among the noteworthy discussions, the committee stressed the need to secure increased budget allocation for the State Hajj Committee to further its critical functions. Additionally, it was agreed upon to organize an exclusive training camp at the IPS and IAS level, benefitting 100 young individuals from across the state. The committee also resolved to provide computer coaching to unemployed youth to enhance their skillsets.
Furthermore, a commitment was made to initiate comprehensive measures for the development and advancement of Hajj affairs, including the welfare of Hajj pilgrims. Chairman Shah Alam Majumdar extended a plea for cooperation from the elected committee members and the residents of the state, emphasizing the collective effort required for the progress and development of the Hajj Committee and the well-being of Hajj pilgrims in the days to come.
The meeting was graced by the presence of State Hajj Committee Executive Officer Hafiz Uddin, Haj Bhawan OS Abdul Mateen, and several other dignitaries, marking a promising start towards enriching the Hajj experience for the state’s Muslim community.
