Agartala, 29th November 2024: The Tripura Students Federation (TSF) has once again presented a deputation to the President of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury on Friday demanding the preparation of question papers in Roman script for the Kokborok language. The deputation was presented in a bid to address a longstanding issue that the Federation claims has been overlooked by the authorities.
Speaking to media personnel, a leader of the TSF highlighted that the demand for the use of Roman script in Kokborok question papers has been persistent for a long time. “We have been advocating for the use of Roman script in the Kokborok language for years, yet the government has not taken any steps to address this demand. We have already submitted deputations to both the Chief Minister and the Board President, but no action has been taken so far,” the leader stated.
The TSF leader emphasized the significance of their request and expressed frustration over the lack of progress. “Our demand is legitimate and crucial for the students who speak Kokborok. The continuous neglect of this issue is unacceptable. Today, we have once again handed over our demand certificate to the Board President, hoping for a prompt resolution,” the leader added.
The TSF’s repeated appeals highlight the importance of accommodating linguistic diversity in the education system and ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to excel in their academic pursuits. The Federation remains hopeful that the authorities will take the necessary steps to fulfill their demand and implement the use of Roman script in Kokborok question papers.
