Tripura TET Teachers’ Welfare Association honours educators, launches ‘Best TET Teacher’ award

Agartala, 14th September 2025:    The Tripura TET Teachers’ Welfare Association organized a grand felicitation ceremony and cultural evening today at the Agartala Press Club auditorium celebrating distinguished educators and introducing a new annual honour for excellence in teaching.

The event commenced with a tribute to teachers, followed by the presentation of special honours to Padma Shri Dr. Arunoday Saha, Sepahijala District Education Officer Kanika Debbarma, veteran educationist Debasish Banik and Bidisha Majumdar, the first TET-qualified teacher from Tripura to receive the President’s Teacher Award (Pre-2025). The Association formally recognized their contributions to education and public service.

Also felicitated was Manoj Kumar Sinha, an English teacher from Dhalai district and president of the Association’s Dhalai unit, who was recently honoured by the state government on 5 September 2025 for his outstanding service in education.

Marking a new initiative, the Association introduced the “Best TET Teacher of the Year” award, with its inaugural title conferred upon Swapan Kumar Namashudra, an English teacher from Dhalai district, for his exemplary performance and dedication.

Delivering the welcome address, State Secretary Ajay Pal outlined the objectives of the Association’s recognition programme and emphasized its role in promoting educational excellence. The evening concluded with a vibrant cultural programme featuring performances by local artists, adding a celebratory dimension to the gathering.
