Agartala, 1st June 2025:  In a significant push to boost eco-tourism in the state, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Sunday chaired a key meeting to discuss the development of a world-class eco-tourism park at Ludhuwa Tea Estate in Sabroom, located in South Tripura district.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Chowdhury highlighted Tripura’s immense tourism potential as a scenic hill state, blessed with natural beauty across every corner. “To showcase Tripura’s natural splendor on the world map, the Tourism Department is working to develop tourist hubs of global standards in different parts of the state,” he said.

As part of this broader vision, the government—under a joint initiative by the state and Centre—has identified Ludhuwa in Sabroom for the development of an eco-tourism park aimed at attracting both domestic and international tourists.

The minister, accompanied by Tourism Department Director Prashant Badal Negi, former MLA and noted social worker Shankar Roy, along with senior officials and local stakeholders, visited the proposed site to assess its potential. Detailed discussions were held regarding the construction blueprint and the roadmap for initiating the project at the earliest.

Officials emphasized that the proposed park would not only promote sustainable tourism but also generate employment and uplift the local economy. The plan includes preserving the ecological balance while offering immersive nature-based experiences to visitors.

Local residents, too, welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that it would bring about holistic development in the region.
