Agartala, 25th January 2026:  Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced on Sunday that the Central Government is investing Rs 950 crore in various initiatives to boost development in Tripura.

The announcement came during the inauguration of the Mata Bari Tourist Circuit at the Dumboor Reservoir in Gomati district, where Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was also present.

On the first day itself, projects worth approximately Rs 220 crore were launched, including road construction, solar microgrid installations, and enhancements to health infrastructure. Scindia also inspected the ongoing construction of the Mother and Child Hospital, being developed at a cost of Rs 152 crore, along with the Agartala Government Dental College, which has a budget of Rs 200 crore.

“All these projects are slated for completion by June 2027. Yesterday, we inaugurated an Rs 80 crore project at Agar in North Tripura. Today, we laid the foundation for the Mata Bari Tourism Circuit, valued at Rs 450 crore, which will connect five key tourist sites — Tripurasundari Temple, Neer Mahal Palace, Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, Chabimura, and Dumboor Reservoir. Altogether, Rs 950 crore is being allocated to drive development across Tripura,” said Scindia.

He credited the progress to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, emphasizing that these projects mark a significant step forward for the state’s growth.
