Agartala, 7th November 2026 : In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure in Tripura’s border areas, Tripureshwari Vidya Mandir at Dakshin Colony is set to receive a new school building through the financial support of a charitable trust based in Gujarat. The foundation stone for the proposed building will be laid on November 10 in the presence of distinguished representatives of Vidya Bharati and prominent personalities from Tripura.
Addressing a press conference at the school, representatives of the institution said that Vidya Bharati has been working to promote quality education while preserving the values of Indian culture and traditions. They informed that Tripureshwari Vidya Mandir began its journey on January 23, 2019, and has made considerable progress over the past six years.
The new building will be constructed by the Ma Tushri Kashiba Haribhai Goti Charitable Trust, which has undertaken an ambitious initiative to develop infrastructure for 351 schools across the country. Tripureshwari Vidya Mandir has been selected as one of the beneficiaries under this programme.
According to the school authorities, the entire construction cost will be borne by the trust, which will also take responsibility for completing the building and formally handing it over to the institution. The school will have no financial involvement in the project. They also highlighted the contribution of Trust Chairman Haribhai Goti towards nation-building through educational initiatives.
Emphasising the importance of the project, the representatives said that students from border areas often move to Agartala, Bishalgarh, Sonamura and other urban centres in search of better educational opportunities. Such migration has gradually affected the population of border villages.
The initiative, they said, seeks to provide quality education closer to home, enabling children in remote and border areas to access better educational facilities without leaving their communities.
The school authorities appealed to local residents to participate in the November 10 Bhumi Pujan ceremony, describing the project as an important step towards strengthening education and retaining the younger generation in border areas.
