Agartala, 9th March 2026: In a significant step to support youth from Tripura who secure employment outside the state, the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has established a Migration Support Center in Bengaluru for candidates placed under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY).
The newly established center will provide temporary food and lodging facilities for newly placed candidates from Tripura during their initial days in Bengaluru, helping them settle down before they arrange their own accommodation and adapt to their new workplaces.
Senior officials from TRLM visited Bengaluru in January 2026 to inspect the infrastructure and readiness of the support facility. The inspection team was led by CEO TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, along with Additional CEO Subrata Majumder, COO (Skills) Sankaraj Roy, COO Dipayan Ghosh, and other members of the TRLM team.
To ensure the safety and security of the candidates, CCTV systems are also being installed at the center to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain a safe environment.
Officials stated that the Migration Support Center will play an important role in assisting newly placed candidates from Tripura, particularly those who are traveling outside the state for the first time for employment. The initiative is expected to ease their transition and provide a reliable support system during the crucial early days of their professional journey.
TRLM officials believe that this initiative will further strengthen the impact of the DDU-GKY program by ensuring that trained youth not only get placements but also receive the necessary support to successfully adapt to their new work environments.
