Agartala, 4th February 2026 : Agartala is gearing up to host a major programme under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act in the second week of this month, with a strong focus on strengthening rural employment and livelihood opportunities across Tripura.
In preparation for the event, Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), chaired a coordination meeting with district- and block-level officials on Wednesday to review arrangements and ensure seamless implementation of the programme.
As part of the initiative, TRLM will launch projects amounting to Rs 101.67 crore, marking one of the most significant financial interventions undertaken in the state’s rural sector in recent years. The programme will include the distribution of loans to encourage self-employment and livelihood-based enterprises, handover of vehicle keys under the AGEY Scheme to enhance rural transport and connectivity, and the release of Rs 30 crore as Community Fund support aimed at empowering grassroots institutions and collective initiatives.
In addition to TRLM-led interventions, several development projects of the Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and allied agencies are also scheduled to be inaugurated during the event, reflecting a coordinated and multi-sectoral approach to rural transformation.
Officials anticipate large-scale participation from beneficiaries, community representatives, and local institutions. The upcoming programme is being seen as a landmark step in Tripura’s rural development efforts, combining financial empowerment, infrastructure support, and institutional strengthening in line with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.
