“Trying our best to restore 10,323 teachers’ services”: CM

Agartala Jan 09: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday sounded ‘Soft’ over the issue of 10,323 teachers’ jobs in Tripura adding that the state government is trying best to sort out the terminated teachers’ issue.

Answering the reporters Dr Saha said, “We too want to restore the services of the retrenched teachers and are holding talks with the legal experts over the issue as it is a legal matter”.“We are in doubt if any decision falls under Contempt of Court and therefore opinions from legal experts is awaited in this case”, he added.

The chief minister further mentioned that he is holding discussions with the legal experts based on the logic and reason cited by the terminated teachers.He also urged the sacked teachers to have patience and faith on the stare government.However, few days back the cabinet ministers including education minister Ratan Lal Nath mentioned the 10,323 teachers’ issue to be a “Closed Chapter” and that the state government has no liability for them.

Meanwhile, a group of 10,323 teachers are still on ‘Hunger-strike’ while others have been continuing protests of various disciplines to get back their jobs.
