Agartala, 30th March 2025: An employee of the TSECL Tanmoy Sarkar was severely injured in a road accident that took place early this morning near College of Fisheries, Lefunga. The mishap took place as Sarkar was returning home after completing his night duty.
According to Sarkar, he was traveling at a speed of approximately 65 kmph when he collided with a Commander car coming from the opposite direction near College of Fisheries. Following the collision, the Commander car fled the scene leaving Sarkar critically injured. The impact resulted in severe injuries, including fractures to one arm and one leg.
Local firefighters quickly responded to the emergency, rescuing the injured employee and transporting him to GB Hospital. Sarkar is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dhruba Nath, who is investigating the incident, stated that while the driver of the Commander car has not yet been arrested, the police have identified the driver’s residence. Efforts are underway to arrest the driver and conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
