Agartala, 26th June 2026: The Tripura Sports Journalists Club (TSJC) presented its Annual Sports Awards to the state’s outstanding sportspersons at a colourful function held on Friday at Abhishek Restaurant in Agartala.
In recognition of his remarkable contribution to sports in Tripura, veteran bodybuilder and renowned sports organiser Dilip Bhattacharjee was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award. A former bodybuilder, he has served for many years as the Secretary of the Tripura Weightlifting and Gymnastics Association.
TSJC also announced the Best Sportsperson of the Year awards in six disciplines. The awardees are:
Gymnastics: Shreyanshi Roy , Football: Parvez Bhuiya , Cricket: Riju Saha
Judo: Rickson Debbarma , Chess: Shakya Singh Modak Bodybuilding: Dr. Bishal Sinha
As Shreyanshi Roy and Riju Saha are currently outside the state, their awards will be presented to them at a later date.
The ceremony was graced by Arjuna Awardee gymnast Montu Debnath and Dronacharya Award-winning coach Bisweshwar Nandi, both of whom highly appreciated the initiatives and activities of the Tripura Sports Journalists Club.
Among the distinguished guests were sports enthusiast and TSJC patron Rupam Roy, along with several eminent personalities from the sports fraternity of the state.
The programme was presided over by TSJC President Sarayu Chakraborty.
On the occasion, the Tripura Sports Journalists Club expressed its sincere gratitude to Tripura Sports Minister Tinku Roy for extending valuable support to the event. The Club also conveyed its thanks to L. Darlong, Director of the Sports Department, for his cooperation.
