Agartala, June 24: A disturbing incident unfolded in Kamalghat as a TSR jawan, identified as Babul Sarkar, allegedly attacked a youth named Rupak Sarkar, striking him on the head with a helmet in front of the Kamalghat school. The incident is believed to stem from previous animosity between the individuals involved.
According to Rupak’s father, the altercation might have been fueled by a past romantic involvement between Rupak and Babul’s daughter, which had been addressed and resolved through discussions between their families six months ago.
On Saturday, as Rupak Sarkar arrived at the school, Babul unexpectedly confronted him and proceeded to assault him with a helmet, causing severe head injuries. Rupak was swiftly transferred to GB Hospital for medical treatment. Expressing his resolve for justice, Rupak’s father stated his intention to file a formal complaint against Babul Sarkar at the local police station.
The incident has raised concerns among the community, prompting authorities to initiate an investigation into the matter. The local police will be responsible for examining the circumstances surrounding the assault and ensuring appropriate legal action is taken.
