TSR vehicle crashes into ration shop near Udaipur Police Lines

Agartala, 18th October 2025:  A Tripura State Rifles (TSR) vehicle met with a serious accident today near the Udaipur Police Lines, crashing into a local ration shop and triggering brief unrest among residents.

The incident took place as TSR personnel were being deployed to ensure peaceful conduct of the upcoming Diwali fair in Udaipur’s Matarbari area. Locals informed that the TSR vehicle lost control while approaching the Dhwajanagar Police Lines and rammed into Ration Shop No. 4, located adjacent to the police quarters.

Shop owner Samar Chandra Debnath was not present at the time of the crash, narrowly escaping harm. Upon returning to the scene, he found his shop severely damaged, with essential supplies such as rice, sugar, lentils and flour destroyed in the impact.

The sudden accident led to a wave of anger among local residents, who gathered at the site in protest. Police officials arrived shortly after and managed to bring the situation under control.
