Two Bangladeshi women arrested for illegal entry at Kamalasagar

Agartala, 11th August 2024:   Despite the Border Security Force’s (BSF) stringent surveillance at the Kamalasagar border, infiltration attempts continue. Early Saturday morning, BSF personnel arrested two Bangladeshi women in the Madhupur godown area. The women were subsequently taken to the Harihar Dola BSF camp for interrogation. Following extensive questioning, they were handed over to the Madhupur police station on Saturday night.

The detainees identified as Farzana Akhtar from Gazipur district and Arefa Begum from Bogra district in Bangladesh, had illegally crossed the border with the assistance of Indian touts. A ticket to Kolkata from Agartala railway station was found in their possession. On Sunday, the Madhupur police produced the arrested women in court.
