Agartala, 25th April 2026: A vibrant two-day kite flying competition kicked off on Saturday at the Matripalli ground in Badharghat, just outside the capital. The event, organized for the sixth time by Animator, drew notable guests including social worker Manish Deb, Ward 46 Corporator of Agartala Municipal Corporation Prasenjit Lodh, and Dr. Nupur Debbarma, Director of the National Health Mission, among others.
This year, 24 teams are participating in the contest, which aims to revive the once-popular tradition of kite flying in Tripura. Speaking to reporters, Animator’s founder said the initiative was designed to bring back the cultural charm of kite competitions that had faded over time.
Alongside the sporting excitement, the program also featured awareness campaigns on national health initiatives such as the TB-Free India Mission and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. These outreach activities were integrated into the festivities to spread messages of public health and social welfare among attendees.
The two-day event promises not only colorful skies filled with kites but also a blend of tradition, community spirit, and social awareness.
