Two held with Yaba worth Rs 18 Crore

Agartala, 30th October 2024:    The Assam Rifles deployed in Tripura, have seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 18 Crores and arrested two persons from Narang Bari under West District.

A press statement from Assam Rifles said that in a sensational operation on the eve of Diwali, Assam Rifles has recovered 90,00O Yaba tablets from general area Narangbari on 30 October 2024. “The latest drug bust also resulted in apprehension of two individuals and seizure of one vehicle. The apprehended individuals alongwith seized drugs  have been handed over to the DRI, Agartala for further proceedings” the Press Release reads.

It said that acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles conducted a well-executed operation which led to the recovery of huge amount of Yaba tablets which are estimated to be priced at a whopping Rs 18 crores in international market and detained two.
