Two More Arrested in Tripura Drug Trafficking Case

Agartala,  10th November 2025: The Sonamura Police Station under Sepahijala District has arrested two more individuals in connection with an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

According to Tripura Police, the arrests follow a major seizure on the night of September 15, when a joint operation by the Police and the 81st Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) led to the apprehension of a drug peddler, Md. Mustafa. Authorities confiscated 102 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) from his possession. Mustafa remains in judicial custody.

During further investigation into the case, police arrested Samir Miah and Ihid Miah, both residents of Kamal Nagar, Krishna Dola, under the jurisdiction of Sonamura Police Station.

“Based on evidence collected during the investigation, we have detained two additional suspects involved in the narcotics trade. More arrests may follow as the inquiry progresses,” a police official said.

The Tripura Police continue their efforts to curb the drug menace in the border areas of the state.
