Two stolen scooters recovered, one suspect arrested by NCC Police

Agartala, 25th January 2026:   Police at NCC station successfully recovered two stolen scooters and arrested one accused in connection with the thefts. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prajit Malakar briefed the media today, outlining the details of the operation.

According to police, on January 22, a scooter belonging to Sebika Debbarma was stolen from outside her quarters. Following the incident, Debbarma lodged a written complaint at NCC police station on January 24. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and apprehended a suspect identified as Suman Nama.

During interrogation, Nama revealed information about another scooter that had been stolen nearly two months earlier. Based on his statement, police were able to recover both stolen vehicles.

The accused was produced before court today, where police sought five days of remand for further questioning. Sources within the department indicated that investigators expect to uncover more details about the theft ring during the interrogation process.
