Agartala, 7th October 2024:   Two students of class IX named Nayan Sarkar from Jirania and Rupanjit Sarkar from Tepania were found covered in mud near the Kali Temple adjacent to the Jamjuri-Kakraban Railway Station late last night. The two boys have been residing and studying at the Udaipur Khilpara Orphanage for the past three years were caught by locals around 11 PM.

Upon questioning, the boys revealed that they had fled the orphanage due to severe ragging by senior students. Their statements raised further suspicion among the locals, leading them to hand over the boys to the Radha Kishorepur police station.

The police have initiated an investigation and are in discussions with the orphanage authorities to determine how the boys managed to escape unnoticed. The orphanage’s night guard and in-charge were unable to provide an explanation for the boys’ disappearance.

The police have assured that appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
