Two thieves held in Udaipur for looting temple, Govt offices

Agartala: October 02 :  Under the leadership of Debanjali Roy, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Amarpur, the police successfully apprehended the primary mastermind behind the recent spate of thefts in government offices and temples. The incidents had caused considerable tension in the sub-divisional area, particularly with the thefts at the Mata Mangal Chandi temple, Ram Thakur temple, and the sub-divisional office.

Biplop Das, a resident of Chandi Para area, was apprehended in connection with these thefts. He admitted to stealing and discarding various items, including computer equipment and CCTV cameras, into two ponds. He cooperated with the police in locating the spot where the stolen CCTV cameras from the temple were disposed of, which were subsequently retrieved from the waters of Amarsagar. Additionally, it was discovered that the thief had also stolen various pieces of furniture from the Amarpur Girls’ School. Another individual was apprehended in connection with this theft, identified as Nepal Das.
