Agartala, 29th November 2025:  The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) is preparing for a grand edition of the Saras Mela, tentatively set to commence on 13 December at the Hapania Ground in Agartala.

This year’s fair will feature an extensive setup of 400 stalls, highlighting products crafted by women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Tripura as well as several other states. Of these, 335 stalls will be allotted to SHG entrepreneurs (“SHG didis”), while the remaining 65 stalls will be designated for various government line departments, including Police, Health & Family Welfare, and the Press.

Earlier today, TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma, accompanied by the SDO (RD) and other officials, visited the Hapania venue to review ongoing preparations and ensure smooth conduct of the event.

To maximize public engagement, the state government will install eight decorative gates across Agartala and place hundreds of promotional posters across all districts.

The two-week-long Mega Saras Fair is expected to attract SHG participants from Tripura and multiple other states, offering visitors a wide variety of handicrafts, handloom products, organic items, and more.  In a major development, TRLM also announced the launch of the first-ever Food Saras Fair, scheduled for January 2026. This special edition will host thousands of SHGs exclusively showcasing food items and food-based products, marking a significant expansion of the Saras platform.

Both upcoming fairs are anticipated to provide a substantial boost to rural entrepreneurship, promote women-led economic activities, and draw large crowds from across the state.
