Agartala, 14th January 2026:    Police have arrested two youths in connection with a theft case reported at Kakraban Police Station earlier this month.

On the night of January 6, rubber was allegedly stolen from the residence of Gautam Kundu in Jamjuri village under Kakraban Police Station. The following morning, January 7, Kundu lodged a complaint against Jayanta Debnath, accusing him of committing the theft and bringing a Maruti Eeco vehicle to the spot.

During interrogation, two more names surfaced in connection with the case: Biswajit Debbarma (27), resident of Phulkumari, Udaipur, and Biswajit Debnath (22), resident of Garjanmura.

Both accused were taken into custody last night by Investigating Officer Judu Halam, Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Malakar, and Second Officer Samir Das. They were produced before the Udaipur Court on Wednesday morning.

Speaking on the matter, Kakraban OC Jayanta Malakar said police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the theft and involvement of others.
