Two youths injured in Dharmanagar road collision near Krishnapur Petrol Pump

Agartala, 23rd June 2025:  A serious road accident took place near the Krishnapur petrol pump on Panisagar Road last night around 10 am leaving two youths injured following a collision between a Bolero vehicle and a stationary truck.

Local sources informed that a Bolero bearing registration number TR05C-1884 rammed into the rear of a stationary truck bearing registration number AS01CC-0501) parked near the petrol pump. Eyewitnesses report that the driver of the Bolero fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The injured passenger identified as 26-year-old Suman Debnath from Charu Basa was rescued by local residents in a critical condition. Alok Debnath, 24, who was assisting at the scene reportedly suffered a hand injury during the rescue attempt.

Upon receiving the alert, fire department personnel quickly arrived and transported both individuals to the Dharmanagar District Hospital. Hospital sources confirmed that Suman Debnath sustained a fractured left leg and a serious head injury. Both victims are currently undergoing medical treatment.

The incident has sparked concerns over roadside safety and the hazards posed by unattended vehicles along busy thoroughfares. An investigation into the accident is underway.
