Agartala, June 23: The gambling industry in Udaipur has experienced a significant surge in recent times, attracting the attention of authorities. Gambling activities continued throughout the day at the north bank of Jagannath Dighi in Udaipur.

Unfortunately, this trend has led to the financial independence of a considerable portion of the impoverished class, as they squander their hard-earned money on these activities.

In response to reports of illegal gambling operations, the RK Pur police station initiated an anti-gambling operation around 2 PM on Thursday.

During the operation, a notorious gambler named Swapan Pal was apprehended, and a substantial amount of Rs 30,770 was seized from him.

The RK Pur police station has vowed to continue such crackdowns in the future, ensuring that stringent measures are taken against gambling activities in the region.
