Agartala, 19th August 2025: In a response to a controversial letter circulating on social media, the BJP’s district youth wing in Kailashahar countered what party leaders described as a deliberate smear campaign against their youth president.
The event was attended by District Youth Morcha President Arup Dhar, BJP district spokesperson Subir Malakar, former Chandipur Mandal President Amiya Das, and district committee member Tarid Mia.
During the briefing, Amiya Das alleged that a deliberate smear campaign had been launched against Arup Dhar in recent days. “False accusations are being spread in a planned manner targeting our youth wing president. That’s why we’ve called this press conference,” Das stated.
Arup Dhar addressed the media, referring to a letter circulating online that allegedly links his name with a woman and claims to be addressed to the state Youth Morcha president. Dhar pointed out inconsistencies in the letter, including an incorrect designation for the state president and the absence of a date or official receipt stamp, suggesting it was fabricated.
“There is a malicious group actively trying to defame me and the youth wing,” Dhar said. “I strongly condemn this conspiracy. I will continue working for the party with full dedication and will fight back against those behind this plot.”
He further noted that many well-wishers in the city have expressed their support following the incident, and the state Youth Morcha president has personally encouraged him to continue his work, assuring that the matter will be handled appropriately.
Dhar concluded by stating that he is consulting legal experts and will pursue necessary legal action against those responsible for drafting and circulating the alleged fake letter.
