Agartala, 30th January 2025:   Unemployed youth who passed the 2022 STGT exam attempted to surround the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday, demanding recruitment. However, police intervened, arresting the protesters mid-route and transporting them to the AD Nagar police line in a police van.

A job seeker informed reporters that there is a significant shortage of teachers in the state’s schools. Despite this, the unemployed youth allege that the state government has not been recruiting teachers. Consequently, they gathered to protest in front of the Chief Minister’s house, demanding recruitment.

The protesters claim that they sat for the STGT exam in 2022, when there were 230 vacant posts. They now assert that the state government plans to recruit approximately 700 vacant posts. The youth joined the protest today, demanding the recruitment of all those who passed the exam.
