Agartala, 13th June 2025: A 30-year-old woman’s body was found lying on the railway tracks in the Holakhete area of Peratia under Udaipur sub-division this morning triggering an investigation and a temporary halt in train services.
Local residents alerted authorities, prompting a swift response from Home department. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nirman Das, Garji Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shib Shankar Tripura and Udaipur GRP Police Station Officer-in-Charge Gautam Debbarma arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The deceased’s identity remains unknown.
Following standard procedures, authorities transported the body to the morgue of Gomati District Hospital for an autopsy, which is expected to provide further clarity on the cause of death.
Meanwhile, train services between Sabroom and Agartala were temporarily suspended at Garji railway station for several hours due to the finding, causing disruption to commuters.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
