Agartala, 13th June 2025: Dharmanagar police conducted an inquiry into Venus Beauty Family Salon today following a complaint alleging illegal activities at the establishment. Located in front of the Dharmanagar police station, the salon is operated by Sourav Majumdar, son of Sanjit Majumdar of Ranir Bazar, Agartala, who has rented the premises from Jyoti Lal Debnath.
Upon receiving the complaint, Sub-Inspector Harendra Debbarma along with a female officer from the Women’s Police Station searched the premises. However, after thorough investigation, authorities found no evidence supporting the allegations. Police officials reported that the operation of the salon appeared legitimate, although during their arrival, manager Palas fled the scene raising suspicions.
Four women employed at the spa confirmed their work at the center, which consists of four rooms designated for massage services. Despite being operational for nearly three months, it was revealed that the business lacked a valid trade license from the local council.
Residents in the vicinity expressed concerns regarding the nature of the establishment, stating that while the salon had been recently opened, they had rarely seen women visiting the premises, with male patrons being more frequent.
In response to the findings, police seized relevant documents and ordered the closure of the spa. The investigation follows a previous incident in Nayapara, where several women were detained from another establishment under similar circumstances.
Local citizens have called upon authorities to take firm action against businesses operating without proper authorization, emphasizing the need to safeguard the locality and prevent potential illicit activities.
