Agartala, 3rd February 2026:   Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today said that this year’s Union Budget is progressive and all-inclusive.

He said that this year’s budget amount is Rs 53 lakh 50,000 crore, which is Rs 3 lakh 90,000 crore more than last year.

“The most important matter in this year’s budget is the first step towards making Viksit Bharat 2047. The aims are an increase in per capita income, a rise in GDP, an increase in exports, expedited production, a decrease in unemployment and generation of employment, reduction of poverty, participation of women, extension of roads and railways, implementation of e-governance, increased use of renewable energy, and control of corruption. Keeping all these aspects in mind, the budget was placed,” said the Minister.

The Minister informed that these will be done by the government, society, and the people.

“Involvement of all is needed. This year, stress was given on the defence sector, where Rs 7 lakh 85,000 crore has been kept in the budget. Our slogan is ‘Nation first, party and person later.’ Protection of the nation is essential. Another stress was given on infrastructure development. In 700 districts, 700 girls’ hostels would be set up, which reflects women empowerment. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is not only a slogan but also reflected in the budget. There has been a massive hike in the health budget,” he said.

The Minister also informed that in agriculture, all the schemes were retained and stress was given on food processing. For agriculture, a budget worth Rs 1 lakh 62 thousand 71 crore was allocated, and in renewable energy, the amount was Rs 32 thousand 214 crore.
