Agartala, 19th August 2026 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur paid tribute to the former ruler of Tripura, recalling his visionary leadership and significant contributions to the development of the state.
In a message, HM Shah described Maharaja Bir Bikram as a visionary ruler who believed in pro-people governance and said he is remembered as the “Architect of Modern Tripura” for his contributions to education, infrastructure and administration.
“His enduring legacy continues to inspire our vision for a developed Tripura,” Shah said, highlighting the Maharaja’s contribution to laying the foundations of modern Tripura.
Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur is widely remembered for his progressive outlook and developmental initiatives during his reign. His efforts in strengthening educational institutions, infrastructure and administrative systems played an important role in shaping the state’s modern identity.
In his Bengali message, the Union Home Minister also paid his “humble tribute” to Maharaja Bir Bikram on his birth anniversary. He said the Maharaja continues to be remembered for his people-oriented governance and far-sighted leadership.
Shah reiterated that Maharaja Bir Bikram’s lasting legacy remains a source of inspiration for the collective resolve to build a developed and prosperous Tripura.
