Union Minister Reviews Women and Child Welfare Projects in Agartala

Agartala, 29th June 2026:  Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, visited several women and child welfare institutions and ongoing projects in Agartala on Monday to review their progress and infrastructure.

During her visit, the Minister inspected the Girls’ Unit-2 (Child Care Institution) located at Abhoynagar in Agartala, the ‘Saksham’ Anganwadi Centre near Mahila Ashram, and the under-construction Working Women’s Hostel project. She assessed the current status of these initiatives, focusing on infrastructure development, service delivery, and overall operational efficiency.

Officials accompanying her included Tripura’s Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education, Tinku Roy, and Social Welfare Department Secretary Tapan Das. The delegation reviewed the implementation of various welfare schemes aimed at women and children and discussed ways to further improve their effectiveness.

The Union Minister also held discussions with concerned officials on strengthening ongoing development work and ensuring better delivery of services under government welfare programmes for women and children.
