Agartala, 9th March 2026: Founder of the Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma and leader of the Tipra Motha Party on Monday emphasized that the real strength of indigenous communities lies in unity rather than political affiliation.
Speaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the YBA Community Hall at Anandabazar in Kanchanpur, under North Tripura district, Debbarma said the future of indigenous people depends on their collective spirit and mutual respect.
He stressed that while several political parties operate in the state, indigenous identity should come first. According to him, divisions based on religion or party lines weaken the community’s ability to fight for its rights and development.
Debbarma said he has always worked for the welfare of tribal youth and has never tried to divide indigenous communities. During his visits to different tribal areas, especially regions inhabited by the Reang community, he said witnessing poverty deeply affects him and strengthens his resolve to work for their upliftment.
He called for “Thansa,” or unity, within the community, adding that political unity alone is not enough—true solidarity among people is what will ensure progress.
Debbarma further said that indigenous people must focus on the future of the next generation, emphasizing that the larger goal is to eradicate poverty, secure rights, and ensure that indigenous communities play a leading role in shaping the future of Tripura.
