Universal Brotherhood Day Celebrated at ILS Hospitals, Agartala:

Agartala, 11th September 2026 : Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Agartala Branch, organised the Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at the Auditorium of ILS Hospitals, Agartala, on Friday, commemorating the 133rd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

The programme was organised to spread Swami Vivekananda’s timeless message of universal brotherhood, harmony, tolerance and unity, and to inspire people to carry forward his ideals of service to humanity.

Prof. Chandrika Basu Majumder, former Dean, Faculty of Arts and Commerce, Tripura University (A Central University), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Justice S.C. Das, Vibhag Sanchalak, Vivekananda Kendra, Agartala, presided over the programme.

Dr. Gautam Hazarika, Chief Operating Officer (COO), ILS Hospitals Agartala, was also present on the occasion. His participation highlighted the hospital’s support for initiatives that promote social harmony, human values and community engagement beyond healthcare.

Speakers recalled Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago address of September 11, 1893, and emphasised how his message of religious harmony, mutual respect and universal acceptance remains equally relevant in contemporary society.

Pranabasis Majumder, Babastha Pramukh, and Tapash Ranjan Roy, Nagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Agartala Branch, were associated with organising the programme.

The celebration concluded with a renewed appeal to follow Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of service, unity and universal brotherhood and his inspiring call: “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.”
