Agartala, 10th November 2025 :  Allegations of repeated vandalism have surfaced at the West Pilak Anganwadi Kendra under the Jolaibari assembly constituency, raising serious concerns about the safety and sanctity of educational spaces in the region.

Local sources informed that the premises of the Anganwadi Kendra have become a regular gathering spot for miscreants after dark. These gatherings reportedly involve alcohol consumption and other antisocial activities, contributing to a growing atmosphere of intimidation and disruption.

This morning, staff arriving to open the Kendra were shocked to find the walls smeared with cow dung, a deliberate act believed to be carried out by the same group of troublemakers. The incident has been widely condemned as an attempt to defile the educational environment and discourage community engagement.

Bapan Kar, Supervisor of the Jolaibari ICDS office, rushed to the site upon receiving the report. “This is deeply unfortunate,” he said. “Such acts of vandalism have been recurring, and we can no longer remain silent. A formal complaint will be submitted today by concerned citizens and our department to ensure appropriate action is taken.”

Kar further stated that the matter would be escalated to the Jolaibari Outpost to prevent future incidents.
