Agartala, 4th June 2024: Tripura University recently hosted a transformative Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Entrepreneurship Development. The event, organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation at Tripura University, commenced on May 29 and concluded today with a valedictory session attended by distinguished dignitaries.
The closing session featured notable speakers, including Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University; Prof. Chinmoy Roy, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Law Management and Information Science; and Prof. Salim Shah, Coordinator and Centre Head of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation.
In his detailed address, Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain emphasized the significant role of entrepreneurship in personal success and national development. He highlighted the relevance of entrepreneurial education within the framework of the new National Education Policy, which integrates skill development from class VI through to the master’s level.
Prof. Chinmoy Roy extended his best wishes to the faculty participants from various higher educational institutions across Tripura. He underscored the crucial role educators play in inspiring young minds towards entrepreneurship within their institutions.
Prof. Salim Shah discussed the future plans for the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship in today’s job market, where reliance on government employment is no longer sufficient.
The programme was efficiently conducted by Dr. Sindhu Poudyal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Tripura University. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manish Das, Assistant Coordinator of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation.
The FDP provided valuable insights and practical knowledge, equipping faculty members with the tools to foster entrepreneurial spirit among students, aligning with the broader goals of the new educational policy to enhance skill development and innovation.
