Agartala, December 28: In a significant stride towards uplifting tribal communities, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’s well-equipped campaign van made its way through the Gournagar block area of Unakoti district on Thursday. The van, laden with essential resources, aimed to bolster the Pradhan Mantri JanMaan Scheme within the tribal populace.

The campaign reached a pivotal point at the Jalai Panchayat office premises under the Gournagar block, where a dedicated camp was set up to mark the van’s arrival. The primary focus of the camp was to extend essential facilities to the tribal communities, particularly under the Pradhan Mantri JanMaan Scheme.

As part of this initiative, beneficiaries from the tribal Reang community received job cards under the RR (Ordinary Resident Register) and MGNREGA Act, facilitating economic opportunities for the locals.

The Pradhan Mantri JanMaan Scheme, approved by the Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 29, is a comprehensive effort to ensure basic services for the overall development of tribal settlements and families. The campaign places special emphasis on crucial aspects such as education, health, nutrition, road and telecom connectivity, clean water, safe housing, and sanitation.

Notably, the PM-JanMaan Abhiyan targets the holistic development of 75 Specially Vulnerable Population Groups (PVTGs) across the country. In today’s program, Gaurnagar Panchayat Samiti Chairman Narayan Singh, Vice Chairman Sivashankar Adhikari, Block BDO Rameshwar Chakraborty, and other dignitaries were present, affirming their commitment to the campaign’s objectives.
