Agartala, 5th April 2025: The Vivekananda Shishu Sadan located near Golaghati Bazar celebrated the inauguration of its new building with a grand ceremony. MLA Sushanta Deb led the event lighting the ceremonial lamp and cutting the ribbon to mark the opening. The occasion was graced by Bishalgarh Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Atushi Das, Panchayat Samiti Member Rabindra Datta, Bishalgarh Press Club President Bhabatosh Ghosh, Gram Pradhan Pushpa Roy, Upa-Pradhan Dulal Shil, School Principal Sadhan Shil and SMC Chairman Himanshu Sinha, who presided over the function.
Senior Teacher Ajit Chakraborty delivered the welcome address, and the guests paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda by offering flowers to his portrait. MLA Sushanta Deb emphasized the importance of socio-cultural activities alongside academics and encouraged fostering a positive outlook among children. The school students showcased their talents through music and dance performances.
The journey of Vivekananda Shishu Sadan began in 2006 when local youths established the pre-primary school in a rented house. Despite financial struggles, including irregular teacher salaries, the school persevered. After 19 years of dedication and community support, the institution now stands proudly on its own land with a new building. Chairperson Atushi Das assured continued support for enhancing the school’s quality and infrastructure.
