Agartala, September, 2022: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday said that the voluntary blood donation is the best gift of humanity, transcending caste differences. It is through this blood donation that a cordial relationship develops between each other where religion, caste and creed has no place, he added.
On the occasion of the 41st Foundation Day of Sri Sri Mahanam Angan on Wednesday, Dr Saha inaugurated a blood donation camp at the ashram premises here. On this day, despite the inclement weather, about 40 people donated blood voluntarily. It was expected that the number of blood donors would have been more if the weather had been favourable.
The Chief Minister said that religious people go to temple and math to know themselves properly because the real place to know yourself properly is this religious place. Sri Sri Mahanam Angan Ashram organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp today as part of its social programme. The chief minister urged this ashram to come forward in various social activities like blood donation in the future.
On this day, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that the blood donation program in Tripura is currently held in a festive mood. Apart from various clubs, social organizations, many also organize blood donation in private social events because blood donation is a sacred act and this can save the life of a critically ill patient.
He said that due to the sincere efforts of the present state government, there has been a drastic change in the health system of the state. As a result, patients do not have to go abroad for treatment. Tripura currently has developed infrastructure for treating complex diseases.
In the event, Shrimat Upasakabandhu Brahmachari Maharaj, All India President of Mahanam Community, said that this Mahanam Angan was established in 1982. This ashram regularly conducts social programs like blood donation. Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Santosh Saha, AMC Central Zone chairman Ratna Dutta, Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sevak Sangh Secretary Sudip Kumar Roy and Vice-President Rabindra Chandra Saha were also present on the occasion.
