Agartala, 11th August 2026: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday spoke over the phone with Pranab Sarkar, President of the Agartala Press Club and National Editor of Headlines Tripura, and acknowledged the contribution of the people of Tripura to the Liberation War of 1971.
Sheikh Hasina personally initiated the call, which lasted around five minutes. During the conversation, she repeatedly expressed gratitude for the support and contribution extended by the people of Tripura during Bangladesh’s Liberation War.
She also referred to the movement led by the people of Tripura during the July uprising and conveyed her greetings to them.
The conversation once again highlighted the historical ties between the people of Tripura and Bangladesh, particularly the solidarity extended by Tripura during the Liberation War.
