Agartala, 20th September 2026 : A newly purchased Bolero pickup vehicle became the target of thieves in the Shani Bazar area under Sidhai police station, with all its wheels allegedly being removed and stolen during the night.
According to reports, local resident Swapan Debbarma had purchased the Bolero pickup just six days ago. As usual, he parked the vehicle in front of his house on Saturday night and went to sleep.
However, when he woke up on Sunday morning, he found that the vehicle’s wheels had been removed and taken away by unidentified miscreants. He immediately informed Sidhai Police Station about the incident.
Police personnel reached the spot after receiving the information and inspected the area. An investigation has been launched to identify those involved in the theft.
The vehicle owner alleged that this was the second time that the wheels of his vehicle had been stolen. He suspected that drug-addicted individuals might be involved in the incident, though the exact identity of the culprits will be established only after the police investigation.
The incident has caused concern among residents, who have expressed worry over the reported increase in vehicle theft and theft of vehicle parts in the area. Locals are now waiting to see whether police can identify and arrest those responsible.
