Agartala, 30th June 2024:    A violent altercation over a parking dispute escalated into a disturbing case of molestation and assault on Sunday afternoon in the area adjacent to Kanchanmala Bazar under Golaghati Assembly. The incident has left the local community in shock and demanding justice.

The trouble began when Priyatam Sarkar, a local resident, engaged in a quarrel over parking his bike in front of a house in the vicinity. The argument soon intensified, prompting Sarkar to call his friends Pintu Das and Rakesh Debnath for support. Together, the trio launched a violent attack on Sarkar, the homeowner.

In a brave attempt to protect her husband, Sarkar’s wife intervened, only to be allegedly molested and beaten by the assailants. The harrowing incident compelled the victims to approach Amtali police station, where they lodged a formal complaint against Priyatam Sarkar, Rakesh Debnath, and Pintu Das.

Amtali police have assured the victims that a thorough investigation will be conducted and legal action will be taken against the perpetrators. The incident has sparked intense tension in the Kanchanmala area, with local residents, including the affected woman, demanding exemplary punishment for the accused.

The community now waits to see whether the police will uphold justice and take swift action against those responsible for this heinous act. The safety and security of residents in the Kanchanmala area hinge on the outcome of this investigation, as the call for justice grows louder.
