Woman assaulted at Aralia, accused on run

Agartala, 5th March 2026:  A disturbing incident has come to light from the capital city’s Aralia Hrishipara locality, raising serious concerns about women’s safety in the region.

Yesterday evening, the wife of local resident Manik Das was allegedly assaulted by a neighbor, identified as Rajesh Rudrapal, a liquor seller. According to reports, Rudrapal verbally abused the woman with offensive language. When she protested, and in the absence of her family members, the accused forcibly entered her home. He then physically assaulted her and tore her clothes, subjecting her to harassment.

Hearing the victim’s cries, neighbors rushed to the spot, prompting Rudrapal to flee. The woman later filed a written complaint against him at the East Agartala Women’s Police Station.

This afternoon, the survivor spoke to the media, recounting the ordeal and demanding strict punishment for the accused.
