Woman found hanging in home at Kailashahar

Agartala, 19th November 2023:   In a deeply distressing turn of events, the 17th Ward area of Kailashahar Vidyanagar was shaken today as Sangita Sinha, wife of retired police officer Amal Kumar Sinha, was found hanging in her residence. The incident, which occurred this morning, has left the community in shock and sorrow.

Amal Kumar Sinha, who served in the police department before retiring a few years ago, recounted that he returned home to find the door locked. Despite numerous attempts to reach his wife, Sangita did not respond. Concerned by the silence within, relatives were alerted, and upon their arrival, they forcibly entered the premises to discover her hanging body from the ceiling fan

Reportedly, the couple lived alone as their children are residing in Bangalore. Family sources indicate that Sangita was known for her contentious nature, frequently engaging in arguments with both her husband and children over various matters.

Kailashahar Women Police Station promptly responded to the scene, initiating an investigation into the incident as an unusual death case.

The body has been taken to Unakoti District Hospital for post-mortem examination. Hospital sources have confirmed that after the completion of the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the grieving family.
