Woman sustains severe injuries after being struck by a train

Agartala, June 23: A 45-year-old woman named Suniti Das suffered grave injuries as a result of an unfortunate incident involving a train. The incident took place at Kalimura area in Jirania.

According to the victim’s daughter, Suniti Das embarked on her customary morning excursion at 5:30 a.m. on Friday. While walking along the railway track, she was unexpectedly hit by an approaching train from behind.

The impact caused her to fall to the ground, resulting in serious injuries. Prompt action from local residents led to her rescue, and she was swiftly transported to Jirania Hospital. Upon assessment, the attending physician determined that her injuries necessitated immediate transfer to GB Hospital. Tragically, one of her legs had to be amputated as a result of the train collision.

Currently, Suniti Das is receiving medical treatment at GB Hospital as she continues her recovery process.
