Women’s development must be ensured for real development: ICA  Minister

Agartala: August 03. Information and Cultural affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury today stated that women can’t be left behind if real development is needed for society.Minister Chowdhury said this while inaugurating a mega loan camp organized by Ranirbazar Municipal Council at Gitanjali Hall in Jirania sub-division under West District today.

“The present government of the state is working to improve the socio-economic status of women. For the real development of the society, it must be ensured that women are not left behind in any way”, he said.It may be noted that this mega loan camp was organized under the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission project. The Minister further said that in order to build a self-reliant Tripura, along with men, women should come forward with equal responsibility.

“Keeping this slogan ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ in front, the state government is doing various developmental works. The state government wants to move forward with everyone”, the minister stated.He urged everyone to extend their hand in this effort of the state government.Prabir Kumar Das, vice chairperson of Ranirbazar MC, among others spoke on the occasion. Jiban Krishna Acharya, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jirania Sub-division gave the welcome address. Councilors of Gautam Majumder, Rinku Debnath, Shankar Chandra Saha, PNB Deputy Manager Subashis Bhowmik, Tripura Grameen Bank Manager Shankar Debbarma, West District Cultural Advisory Committee member Partha Sarathi Saha and others were present in the event. In this mega loan mela, 42 self-help groups were given loans of Rs 73 lakh. Apart from this, Rs 18 lakh loan was given to 9 people.
