Worker dies after fall from building at Bishalgarh

Agartala, 5th September 2026 :   A worker died after falling from the roof of a building while working at West Lakshmibil in Bishalgarh on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Tapan Debnath, a resident of Madhya Brajapur area of Bishalgarh. According to reports, Debnath was working at the residence of Ashutosh Das when he accidentally fell from a height, sustaining severe injuries.

On receiving information, Bishalgarh Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured worker. He was subsequently taken to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

However, doctors attending to him found no vital signs and declared him brought dead. A doctor said the worker had suffered a severe head injury, with bleeding from his nose and mouth. He was brought to the hospital at around 1:15 pm.

A police official said the Bishalgarh Fire Service had informed them about a person sustaining injuries after falling from a roof while working in West Lakshmibil. The official confirmed the deceased as Tapan Debnath.

Meanwhile, news of his death prompted family members to rush to the hospital. The atmosphere turned sombre as relatives mourned the sudden loss of their loved one.
